The automatic switching system switches ON light depending on day light using light dependent resistors (LDR). These devices depend on the light, when light falls on the LDR then the resistance decreases, and increases in the dark. So it can be used for switching OFF a lamp when dawn breaks and switching it ON when dusk sets in.
